Luanda Jones returns to the Lula Lounge stage with both a fresh face and vibrant new repertoire. Those new compositions bring together all of the disparate and inspirational sounds encountered along her global travels, melding together influences running from quant bossa nova and comforting roots to more frenetic electronic and afro beat flavours.
A captivating but subtle performer, Luanda is a unique voice on the Canadian jazz landscape, blending samba, bossa nova, funk and jazz. Jones will perform some new material and will be joined by Ian De Souza on bass and Marito Marques on Drums.

Brazilian Jazz Party
Sinal Aberto will be playing a Brazilian Jazz Party at the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill, 7:30 – 10:30 PM. Luanda Jones (vocal), Mark Kelso (drums), Roberto Occhipinti (bass), and Gordon Sheard ( piano) will perform classic Brazilian songs by Jobim, Milton Nascimento, and Chico Buarque (among others), as well as some of their original hits.
